I have become somewhat of a Social Media Junky. I do not consider this to be a bad thing. I would say that 90% of my Social Media usage is for my business. The other 10% is for keeping in touch with friends and relatives, etc. Social Media provides us with so many "tools". The best part about these tools is that they are FREE!

I will admit, at first I did not really know what I was doing with these new "tools". I would post things, but did grow my followers, etc. I was pretty much wasting my time. Earlier this year I attended a seminar in St. Louis with Jeffrey Gitomer as the speaker. He is a very motivational individual and a huge advocate of Social Media. I purchased one of his books called "SOCIAL BOOM How to Master Business Social Media".
I immediately began to use his teachings and saw immediate success!

My main tools are Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. I have made so many beneficial business contacts and gained new customers by using all 3 of these tools in the proper manner. When you focus in and truly know how to use these tools they can do wonders for your business!

I have also become a member of the Social Media Club of Kansas City. This organization has monthly meetings as well as other events such as after hours, etc. This Club has become another great resource for me.

So I encourage you to jump into Social Media, but do some research before you jump in all of the way. Read that book that I mentioned above. That will get your mind churning as to all the amazing possibilities that lay ahead for you. Become involved in a local Social Media Club. This will allow you to meet like-minded individuals and learn from your peers.
